CCI map-final

On May 17th, 2013 nine Caribbean Governments and territories signed the CCI Leaders Declaration committing them to accelerate and expand efforts to safeguard the Caribbean region's marine and coastal environment, further promote the sustainable use of natural resources through new commitments to conservation and/ or scaling up of existing actions, engage the private sector and partners of the CCI and expand the CCI to include additional governments.

CCI Governments are currently completing their CCI National and Territory Action plans (to be finalized by July 2014) to inform a CCI Regional Action Plan which, with the assistance of the CCI Secretariat will be finalized at the end of 2014. These action plans will be guided by the seven important themes identified by CCI Governments in the Framework of Action and the priority areas identified by each government in the CCI Leaders Declaration.
