When did you join the CCI?

GLISPA was the host of the High Level Event: "Islands, marine biodiversity and livelihoods: a Global Island Partnership" at CBD COP8 in Curitiba, Brazil, where Grenada made the preliminary commitment to"25% marine & 25% terrestrial areas under effective conservation by 2020".

Why did your organization join the CCI?

GLISPA is committed to strengthening the CCI in support of the Partnership's mission to promote action for island conservation and sustainable livelihoods by inspiring leadership, catalyzing commitments and facilitating collaboration.

How is the CCI important to marine and coastal conservation in the Caribbean?

The CCI brings together visionary leaders that want to work together for great action and impact.

What are your organization's main conservation priority actions under the CCI? Or what is your organization's role in the CCI?

GLISPA is committed to promoting and strengthening the CCI through drawing attention to the initiative as a bright spot that is helping to advance global conservation targets. GLISPA supports the CCI alongside other visionary island commitments such as the Micronesia and Western Indian Ocean Coastal Challenges.
